Zip-lining in Mindo, Ecuador 6-17-17 Hola mis Amigos!  Wow! It has been an amazing two weeks since I last posted.. There have been so many unforgettable moments, memories made, friendships built, and so much more. In the past three weeks my love for Ecuador and the people here has only grown stronger. Every time I walk out the door I feel like God opens my heart just a little more. Everyday here is another adventure, another opportunity for me to grow in my faith, in my friendships, and in my relationships with the children and families of PDV. I am forever amazed at how God uses us each in our own way to make a difference.  PDV Children  This week has definitely been filled with a lot of trial and error. After being a part of two very hectic Wednesday food distribution programs, I decided I wanted to try and improve the children’s program. Well.. Much easier said than done I can assure you. To make a long story short, I’m going to h...

Panecillo 6-2-17 Hola Everyone! I can’t believe its already been a week here in Ecuador! Although at times it seems like i’ve been here much longer, the week has definitely just flown by. And I can honestly say, i’ve loved every minute of it! I’m so blessed to be staying with one of my best friends, and her wonderful family. They’ve completely welcomed me with open arms and treated me like one of their own. I’m not quite sure what I would do here in Ecuador without them! From working with the Food Distribution Program, to reorganizing classrooms, to doing home visits for future hit squad projects, to learning how to get around by the Quito bus system. Even though I’ve only been here for such a short time, this week has already been so rewarding. If I had to pick my top favorite moments this week, number 1 would be seeing this little girl wh...

Ecuador 2016 Hi Everyone! I just wanted to take a moment to welcome you, and to introduce myself before my journey to Ecuador continues. My name is Olivia, as I'm sure most of you have figured out already. I am a very recent 20yo who loves to travel, see new places, meet new people, and make the most of my experiences. Growing up in China with my 4 siblings is definitely a huge part of who I am. If asked what my passion is, I'd say serving people in 2nd and 3rd world countries is it. So I really hope this blog is a way for anyone interested to stay connected and updated on the work I'll be doing down there. Although I can't promise I'll have an excessive amount of time for writing, I'll definitely try and post at least once a week! I can't even begin to tell you all how excited I am to finally be going back to Ecuador! Its been nearly a year since the week long mission trip I went on with my church. After lots of prayer and the help of some amazing ...
